De schoenmaker in zijn schoenmakerij aan het werk. De leernaaimachine en diverse andere gereedschappen zijn afgebeeld. Vroeger een ambacht met veel handwerk maar tegenwoordig veel machinaal uitgevoerd en steeds minder een ambachtelijk beroep. - The shoemaker in his shoemaking to work. The leather sewing machine and various other tools are shown. Formerly a craft with many handwork but nowadays many machine-made and less a artisanal profession.
Specifieke beschrijving:
This is a "artisanal" school board. Within the range of the method Lummel school boards there are quite a few that depict professions. Recognizable by the children in the classroom. By the story told by the teacher the pupil was encouraged at an early age to choose a profession. Many of the "Lummel" plates are adjusted through time and improved. Often small details like the lighting (Gas - Electric) or in the clothing.
At present, this crafts – profession image is highly sought after for decoration of meeting rooms and offices. Especially if there is an image that provides a relationship between the profession depicted on the teaching chart and the current company.
